Man United Deadline Day News: Senne Lammens, Tyrell Malacia

With the exception of Tyrell Malacia, Manchester United cut ties with every member of their “bomb squad” during the 2025 summer transfer window. On this deadline day, United also signed Senne Lammens, a goalkeeper from Royal Antwerp. Here, let’s discuss both scenarios.

Senne Lammens

United desperately needed a new goalkeeper since Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana were both disasters in the early going. It came down to Lammens or Emi Martinez of Aston Villa in the closing hours of the window.

We have gone into great length on the Belgian goalkeeper who is moving over on a £18.2 million transfer.

Now that the window has closed, what will happen to Bayindir or Onana?

There are plenty of possible destination clubs in both Saudi Arabia and Turkey as the transfer windows are still open for a little time.

Tyrell Malacia

Few clubs were connected to the Dutch fullback this summer, suggesting that there wasn’t much interest in him.

Elche was in, but because the two parties could not agree on the obligation-to-buy condition, the loan move fell through on the day of the deadline.

Malacia, who was fired today, was the first player to be signed during the Erik ten Hag period. Yes, he was let go by Bayer Leverkusen after just two games. Maybe Malacia was never Man United material, and Ten Hag was incorrect about signing him in the first place?

Or has his career been hampered by injuries, even if he had potential? What will happen to Malacia next?

The Turkish window closes on Sept. 12 while the Saudi window shuts on Sept. 23, so opportunities remain.
