After moving to Aston Villa, Jadon Sancho received no congratulations from any of his Manchester United teammates.
On transfer deadline day, the United winger signed with Unai Emery’s club till the end of the 2021–2026 season, leaving Old Trafford for a third loan stint.
The 25-year-old Sancho’s contract with United expires in the summer, and the team has no intention of extending it.
Since his well-publicized transfer to United in 2021, the former Dortmund player has already made his way back to Germany and spent time with Chelsea.
Sancho announced his move to Villa Park on Instagram, working alongside the Premier League and Aston Villa’s page to promote his next endeavor.
However, neither a current United player nor anyone who appeared to have utilized the “like” feature could be found in the post’s comments.
It has been reported that Sancho, who is close to Marcus Rashford, a former Villa loanee, discussed his time in the Midlands with the Three Lions star.
Similar to how Enzo Maresca did at Stamford Bridge last season, when the winger contributed 14 goals in 42 games, Emery will want to coax a tune out of Sancho.
He also contributed to the Blues’ UEFA Conference League victory by scoring in their 4-1 victory over Real Betis.
Speaking to Villa’s club media on Monday, Sancho was excited for his new challenge and believes more success is only right around the corner, with Europa League football to come this term.
“As a player and especially as a team, we have to be achieving big things,” he said. “We have to be looking towards that, and hopefully I can help the team to achieve some of those goals.
“The team comes first, so whenever the manager needs me I’ll be ready.”
