‘For sure’ – Fabrizio Romano confirms £115m star already on Manchester United transfer list for next year

The latest Man Utd transfer news and gossip with one target already identified for next year.

Manchester United apparently already knows who they will target when the European transfer window reopens next summer, despite the fact that it merely ended this week.

This summer, United added five players to their first squad throughout the transfer window, with Ruben Amorim receiving £216 million in support. With the arrival of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko at Old Trafford, the majority of that was used to revamp their offensive options. Teenage defender Diego Leon completed his pre-agreed transfer to Manchester, and Senne Lammens came on deadline day to offer an additional goalkeeping option.

Although the head coach was unable to address every area he wished to enhance, those additions have greatly increased the alternatives available to Amorim. Despite their unsuccessful attempt to sign a midfield player, United sources stated that a midfielder was not a “priority” during the window.

They already require at least two midfield overhauls, so that is likely to be at the top of their list next year. Bruno Fernandes will once again be a target for Saudi clubs, Kobbie Mainoo requested to leave on loan this summer, Manuel Ugarte has struggled since joining the team a year ago, and Casemiro is anticipated to leave as a free agent when his contract expires.

Fabrizio Romano confirms midfield transfer interest

Although Manchester United may minimize their efforts to acquire a midfield player, they would prefer to have made progress in this area if at all possible. After learning that Brighton would only sell Carlos Baleba for a minimum of £115 million, United withdrew their interest in signing the South Coast player.

Both Atalanta star Ederson and Sporting star Morten Hjlumand were coveted, and United also made a last-minute attempt to recruit Conor Gallagher on loan from Atletico Madrid. During the window, United was also linked to Sevilla midfielder Lucien Agoume, Stuttgart’s Angelo Stiller, and Valencia’s star Javi Guerra.

Long-term interest has also been shown in Crystal Palace player Adam Wharton, who may become a real target in the upcoming summer as they move on to the next phase of their rebuild. United has to add at least two midfield players, regardless of the lineup they choose, and transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano is certain that Baleba will be on their list.

He gave a quick update on their intentions to sign a midfield player next year in his most recent GIVEMESPORT email, writing: “He will definitely remain on Manchester United’s list for 2026. After that, we’ll see if they choose to make a significant investment in him.
