BREAKING: Barcelona reach decision on ‘sending Marcus Rashford home’ amid two reasons for verdict

Reports state that FC Barcelona has made a decision on whether to “break an agreement” and send Marcus Rashford home to Manchester United.

Rashford joined Hansi Flick’s team from Manchester United on loan with a buyout option in the summer, securing his ideal transfer to Barcelona.

Due to his terrible performance over the previous 18 months and his enormous wage, the club did not approve Rashford’s January transfer to Barcelona.

However, after Rashford found his form again during his stellar loan stint at Aston Villa in the last few months of the 2024–25 season, Barcelona made the decision to increase their interest in him. He contributed four goals and six assists across all competitions during this time.

After losing out on Luis Diaz and Nico Williams, Barcelona made the decision to prioritize acquiring a new winger ahead of this summer’s transfer window, and they set their sights on Rashford.

Rashford’s versatility—he can play both up front and out wide—got him the nod, despite the fact that he hasn’t contributed a goal in Barcelona’s three competitive games.

Furthermore, it has already been bluntly said that Barcelona is “considering sending Rashford home.” According to a recent Spanish outlet, Rashford is “forced to improve” if he wants to stay with the team past this season.

According to reports, there is “tension surrounding Rashford” because of his “disappointing performances,” and they could “pay” to “break their agreement” with Manchester United.

The report added:

‘If Rashford continues to leave such a poor impression over the next few months, Barça may consider breaking the loan agreement they have with the team managed by Rubén Amorim.

‘In return, they would have to pay five million euros, the same amount as in June, if they ultimately decide not to exercise the 30 million euros included in their purchase option.’

It is far too early to examine Rashford’s time in Barcelona in depth, according to this reactionary piece, which shows that the Spanish media have swiftly realized there is financial gain in unnecessarily criticizing him.

Guillem Balague, a Spanish football expert, has taken action to refute rumors that Rashford is already in danger at Barcelona, who support the England international for two reasons.

Balague said on X: ‘Absolutely rubbish that Barcelona is planning to end up early @MarcusRashford loan deal.

‘Barça told his representative that they have a lot of confidence in Rashford’s potential and that they believe he will recover as a top player

‘No more to say, apart from the fact I agree with Gary Lineker and his treatment by some media.’
