Aston Villa Fans Deliver Instant Verdict on Jadon Sancho’s Club Debut

Aston Villa fans have delivered their verdict on Jadon Sancho after he made his first appearance for the club.

Sancho transferred to Villa from Manchester United on the deadline day.

He joined Villa Park on a loan for the season, with the Midlands club paying a loan fee and covering 80 percent of the player’s salary.

The prominent winger, who was acquired by Man United for £73 million, was included in Villa’s lineup for their scoreless draw against Everton but did not see any playing time.

However, Unai Emery started him in Tuesday’s Carabao Cup third-round match against Brentford.

Sancho was unable to make an impact in the first half, although Villa did manage to score their initial goal of the season when fellow summer recruit Harvey Elliott netted before halftime.

Shortly after the second half began, the 25-year-old had an opportunity to score but was thwarted by the post.

He became more involved in the cup match and connected well with Elliott on the left side before being substituted in the 74th minute.

Overall, however, Villa supporters were not entirely convinced by Sancho’s debut for the club, as they expressed their opinions on social media.

One X user wrote: “Just been reminded Sancho is on the pitch.”

A second argued: “Elliott and Sancho already raised the technical floor. Nice to see guys not treat the ball like a bomb.”

Reacting to Emery substituting Elliott and Donyell Malen, a third slammed: “Unai has lost his sh*t what the f**k, Sancho has been w**k why is he not coming off.”

A fourth commented: “Sancho been quiet but we really need him to find some confidence and build some form.”

Another said: “Sancho looked okay tonight, there’s a player in there somewhere.”

Having played his first minutes in a Villa shirt, Sancho will be looking to make his first Premier League showing for his new team when they resume their league campaign on Sunday.

Villa, who have yet to win a league game this season, travel to the Stadium of Light to face Sunderland.
