Real Madrid set sights on shock move for Manchester United midfielder

With arrangements in place for a new midfield player to arrive in the event that Dani Ceballos ends up joining Marseille, Real Madrid might add one more player to Xabi Alonso’s roster before the summer transfer market closes on Monday night. Although there have been reports of interest in Adam Wharton, the club is currently considering another England international.

Jude Bellingham and Trent Alexander-Arnold, two Englishmen, are already members of Real Madrid. According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United star Kobbie Mainoo is being watched, so there might be another one soon. The 20-year-old midfielder, who has lost favor at Old Trafford over the past 12 months, is also being watched by City rivals Atletico Madrid.

Season-long loan offer is being considered by both clubs

The article claims that Real Madrid and Atleti are debating whether to pursue Mainoo, with both teams thinking he might be acquired on a season-long loan at first. However, given that they intend to keep the young midfield player on staff, it is thought that Man United would not be amenable to this.

The 2023–24 season saw Mainoo make a spectacular debut for Man United, but ever since, his stay at Old Trafford has been disappointing. He may push for a transfer before Monday’s deadline because current head coach Ruben Amorim does not believe he is a player who should be given regular minutes.

Whether Real Madrid or Atleti intensify their pursuit of Mainoo in the upcoming days is still up in the air. If the Man United player were looking to go, both teams would be a desirable option because they already have English players on their first teams.
