Before the transfer window ends, Manchester United and Aston Villa might make a last-minute deal.

Before Monday’s transfer deadline, the Red Devils are probably going to sign a new goalie.

The main objective is Senne Lammens of Royal Antwerp, but no deal has been reached as of yet.

Emiliano Martinez of Villa is the backup option, and according to Fabrizio Romano, the Red Devils and the Argentina international have now “agreed personal terms” in anticipation of a possible deal.

The Villans have also been contacted by the club. Negotiations to sign the 32-year-old are far advanced.

Martinez emerges as a concrete option for United

It has been determined that Lammens is a player with enormous potential. He made 44 appearances in all competitions during his incredible breakout season with Antwerp last season.

The 23-year-old had a 77 percent success rate and made 4.2 saves per game. Additionally, he made 25 passes in each trip, achieving a 71 percent accuracy rate. Each game, he hit seven long balls.

Lammens also stopped four of the eight penalties that were given up. Although talks with Antwerp and the Belgian star are still going on, United is making a strong effort to sign him.

United may have turned their focus to Martinez in the last few hours because, as of right now, the former Club Brugge player has not accepted personal terms.

Nevertheless, a deal won’t be simple. Earlier this summer, Villa rejected a simple loan offer from United, and they are demanding at least £40 million to let go of their vice captain.

We think the Red Devils might look into a loan agreement that includes a buyout clause for next summer. It might still rely on Villa agreeing to a lower offer of £30 million for the World Cup victor.
