Sources: £300,000-a-week star refusing to take pay cut to leave Man Utd

Manchester United are facing an uphill battle to find a buyer for Jadon Sancho as the Old Trafford outcast has made it clear that he will not lower his salary expectations despite being open to returning to Borussia Dortmund during the summer transfer window, GIVEMESPORT sources have revealed.

The Red Devils have already splashed the cash since they ended the 2024/25 campaign without silverware and European qualification, with Matheus Cunha completing a £62.5million switch from Wolverhampton Wanderers, but head coach Ruben Amorim has been eager to boost his budget by sanctioning departures ahead of next term.

Sancho is refusing to lower his wage demands to quit Manchester United, according to GMS sources, resulting in it being increasingly likely that his current employers will have to continue paying a portion of his £300,000-per-week salary in order to facilitate a move to Borussia Dortmund.

The Bundesliga heavyweights have been showing interest at a time when the winger has been deemed surplus to requirements by the Red Devils, with him not featuring in Amorim’s future plans, but they are in danger of facing competition from the likes of Aston Villa, AC Milan and Napoli as they aim to improve their respective attacking options.

GMS sources have been informed that Sancho is open to heading back to Borussia Dortmund for a third spell, having racked up 13 goal contributions over the course of his season-long loan spell away from Manchester United, but he has provided the German side with a significant stumbling block as he is not willing to take a pay cut.
