Man United get surprise Viktor Gyokeres boost as transfer saga takes another twist

Manchester United could have potentially moved back ahead of Arsenal in their mooted pursuit of Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeresas the Gunners reportedly get ready to “freeze” their interest.

Earlier this week, the Swede’s seemingly drama-free exit from the Portuguese teamtook a twist when Sporting’s president Frederico Varandas denied that he agreed to let Gyokeres leave for £51million, plus £8.5million in add-ons. Gyokeres’ camp hit back that they had this gentleman’s agreement in writing, but Sporting have been holding firm that he will only leave for the release clause of £68million in his contract.
