Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, may implement changes for the upcoming match against Crystal Palace on Sunday, following a potential recovery from injuries.
Spurs secured their spot in the Europa League final against Manchester United later this month by defeating Bodo/Glimt with a 5-1 aggregate score in the semi-finals. A decisive 2-0 victory at Bodo/Glimt’s Aspmyra Stadion, which features an artificial surface, confirmed Tottenham’s advancement to the final in Bilbao on May 21.
Throughout the season, Postecoglou has faced significant challenges due to injuries, with playmaker James Maddison being the most recent addition to the injury list after sustaining a knee injury in the first leg against Bodo/Glimt just over a week ago, which will sideline him for the remainder of the season.
Nevertheless, Postecoglou is expected to receive a positive development on Sunday, as captain Son Heung-min is anticipated to return to the lineup.
Son has been sidelined for the last seven matches due to a foot injury; however, he is now making a timely comeback for Postecoglou, who is also missing Radu Dragusin (knee) and Lucas Bergvall (ankle), both of whom are expected to be out for the remainder of the season.
This month, Spurs faced setbacks with the injuries to Bergvall and Maddison just as Postecoglou was beginning to see players return to full fitness.
“Everyone got through OK the other night,” Postecoglou said at a press conference on Saturday.
