Report: Man Utd now eyeing move for midfielder ‘destined to dominate Europe’, could replace Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United has recognized Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans as a possible successor to captain Bruno Fernandes, according to Fichajes.

The Red Devils are reportedly monitoring options for midfield reinforcements due to increasing interest from the Saudi Pro League in Fernandes, who has recently become a target for Al-Hilal.

The Saudi club is prioritizing Fernandes as their main signing this summer and may present the Portuguese playmaker with a lucrative offer to entice him away from Old Trafford.

United is aware of Al-Hilal’s interest in the 30-year-old and has already considered two potential replacements, including Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes.

Man United Eyeing Youri Tielemans

As reported by Fichajes, Aston Villa currently assesses Tielemans, who is poised to excel in European football, at approximately €50 million (£42 million), rendering him a costly target for the Red Devils this summer.

The Belgian midfielder, who transferred to Villa on a free deal from Leicester City in 2023, has experienced a notable increase in his market value under the management of Unai Emery in recent months. This season, Tielemans has participated in 52 matches across all competitions, netting five goals and assisting ten times, which includes five contributions in the Champions League.

He has slightly more than two years remaining on his original four-year contract at Villa Park, which is set to expire in June 2027. Manchester United is preparing for several alterations in their midfield this summer, as Christian Eriksen’s contract is set to expire and Casemiro is entering the final year of his agreement.

While it is anticipated that the Danish international will depart Old Trafford following the conclusion of the season, Casemiro may also leave, having been rumored to be considering a move to Saudi Arabia earlier this year.
