Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Arne Slot’s side are keen to have a succession plan in place before the 32-year-old’s eventual departure.
This comes after the “huge news” that Salah has put pen to paper on a new contract which will extend his stay at Anfield until June 2027.
The agreement has come as a boost, as O’Rourke told Football Insider Arsenal and Man City have been left reeling after Liverpool avoided the blow of losing their best player.
However, the Reds are determined not to rest on their laurels following the agreement and are already making plans to strengthen their attacking options.
